Last night the movie production Milk filmed crowd shots and protest marchers, as Castro Street was closed from 6:30pm to midnight. I had toyed with the idea of being an extra, but decided it would be too mind-numbing to counterbalance the thrill of being part of the production. I think this first-hand report confirms my decision, but I can’t wait to see the results of everyone’s efforts. I haven’t spied Sean Penn yet, but finally saw the Star Trailer parked on 19th and Noe yesterday. The Castro Shopper has a story about the businesses whose storefront’s have been transmogrified back to the 1970s for the film. They’re filming on the ‘Stro again on Friday night. Check it out if you’re so inclined. Location filming is wrapping up quickly.
