Runway ramp-up

July 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Last week’s season premiere of Project Runway on BravoTV garnered nearly 3 million viewers.  WWD reports today that this opening is a record (so far) for the show, which in its first season had just 354,000 viewers and about 950,000 for the second season before more than doubling for season 3 and 4.

I can’t wait for tonight’s episode.  Will things get ugly quickly?  Characters abound this season – although it also seemed like a lot of talent as well, with most contestants already having their own clothing businesses.

Oh and I feel so fashionable today – I just got fitted for my Paul Smith suit for the wedding.  Yippee!

Project Runway – beginning of the end

Season Five, the final BravoTV season for Project Runway, premiered last night.   Via Gawker – Click here for the best Project Runway recap (so far).  If you have a better one,  please indicate in a comment!

Money quote (On Stella) :

I don’t know about you all, but watching her makes me really nervous. She almost went home but Lloyd from Entourage went home instead. This is a good thing since watching her is exhilarating albeit in a bum fights kind of way.
Fun Fact: Her middle name is Barbarella and her Myspace page is AWESOME!

PR PR

Project Runway public relations, that is.

Tim Gunn is interviewed on Time.com for their celebrity “10 questions” feature.  Among other comments, he disses crocs, designers whose muse is a nineteen year-old size two woman, and Cindy McCain.  “Her face looks like someone twisted her ponytail and tried to give her a facelift.”  Ouch!

He also calls Vince Libretti the most annoying of all Project Runway contestants so far.

Perhaps all this is a PR run up to to next week’s debut of the new Project Runway season on BravoTV.  This will be the final season to air on Bravo.
