The fight continues next week in Loudoun County Virginia to give elementary school students access to the children’s book “And Tango Makes Three.” This story has gained a lot of traction over the past week with coverage everywhere from here to the LGBT press to The View.
For now, the book has been effectively banned from the county’s elementary schools, but the fight is not over. Equality Loudoun is organizing supporters of free expression to attend the School Board meeting on February 26th. (See below).
Unfortunately the decision to ban was made by the Superintendent of Schools against the recommendation of the two working committees which reviewed it. It is most important to show the Board at the next meeting how many County residents support the principal of free speech, and pragmatically support the return to circulation for all students a book that has zero to do with sex and everything to do with a message of diversity and tolerance.
