It’s been reported that now is the time that some of the original leases at the renovated Ferry Market on the Embarcadero are up and being renegotiated, and folks are wondering “who will stay and who will be aufed.”
One of the winners, from Eater SF, apparently is Blue Bottle coffee – one of the new class of micro-roasters that claim a more palatable beverage than, say Peets or Starbucks. The first SF Blue Bottle (it’s based in West Oakland) is still a tiny space on Linden Alley in Hayes Valley, and they recently opened at the Mint Plaza. The Ferry Market has had the Blue Bottle stands outdoors for awhile – and they will remain in place for the twice-weekly Farmer’s Markets while the new indoor cafe will be open all week. Blue Bottle takes the Oak Hill Farm space.
