The current Queeristan banner is a retouched photo I took looking towards Bernal Heights from my rooftop early this year, just as a big rainstorm was clearing. I really liked the way it turned out – even though it was a phone snapshot.
I just received a print of this made as a blow-up and printed on stretched canvas, to hang in our dining room. From a firm called CanvasPop (online), who have special software and apparently an army of internet-based artists to help in blowing up small photos to large-scale without pixelation. I’m quite pleased with how it looks at 18″ x 40″ – not pixelated, but a bit “Impressionist.” A bit.
