Queer bits…

Just wanted to catch up here from a busy and fun-filled Queeristan week.

I found the Sundance Channel on my cable. Must be a new addition to Astound – I think I’m going to like it!

On a FoodTV show, someone is making a “La Changa” – which is a slice of lasagna wrapped in a flour tortilla and deep-fried. Lasagna meets chimichanga. America’s obesity problem has just entered a whole new phase.

Shmoopy and I did our third pizza-making night this weekend. We got started doing this when we had a dinner party a few weeks ago and decided it would be fun to do several different types of pizzas. We tipped our hats to our favorite pies from Starbelly and Beretta, trying to recreate recipes from both restaurants. It worked great, everyone loved it and it is a great way to keep a small group occupied. We were helped by the fact that a local bakery offers refrigerated pizza dough.

For this time, we got dough again from Arizmendi Bakery, near us in the Mission, on Valencia Street. This week we did a traditional pizza with red sauce, sausage and mozzarella. Sliced green olives and some dollops of crema jazzed it up, but really weren’t needed as it was totally queerlicious.

Some friends are getting married in NYC soon. The best man is doing a bachelor party.  I asked him “Just one?” Can they have a joint bachelor party? This is going to get so confusing!

Went to a movie night at a friend’s place Friday night. I haven’t seen Monty Python’s Holy Grail, in well, … hmmm I don’t think I had every seen it. Several people actually had it memorized. We all had a blast. Note – you get more of the jokes with the english subtitles on!

Next time, we’ll have to click on the rabbit.
